Canyoning is descending gorges with flowing water using techniques that may include walking, climbing, jumping, abseiling using ropes, cascading down natural water slides and swimming in crystal clear pools.
The settings of canyons are remote and rugged and are cut into the bedrock stone, forming narrow gorges with beautifully sculpted walls and spectacular waterfalls. In no other way can these places be discovered!
Canyoning gear includes basic climbing hardware, static ropes, helmets, wetsuits and special rucksacks.
Canyoning is an adventure enjoyed by adults, children and families of all skill levels. The routes chosen are based on the experience and size of the group and the conditions of the gorges.
The difficulty of the canyon varies from easy walking and swimming to full-day technical descents with 60 m abseils! A variety of routes exist, though emphasis is on aesthetics and fun rather than pure difficulty.
THE DIFFICULTY LEVELS ARE:
1. Aquatic stroll, with swimming and easy abseiling
(3-4 hrs)
2. Abseiling, swimming, slides and jumps(3-5 hrs)
3. Same as above but more technical and physical
(4-8 hrs)
Prices are based on groups of 4-6 people. See programs and prices for more information and offers.
